“Music is the greatest creation of mankind”. I undeniably agreed on that phrase I just read on an article. The more I think about it the deeper it gets. Music is said to started since the primitive time and up to now it develops and continue to grow. Also, music encompasses culture, tradition and diversity. From ballad to pop, jazz, rock, classical etc. Through music, an artist could express their selves, emotion, feelings, and to convey message that they wanted to share to the world. Music is art. Although it cannot be seen but it has line and colors. The melody, harmony, tone, and rhythm has patterns.
Music has become an important part of every people lives. It can be found almost everywhere. Music serves as therapy to some people because it helps them to calm down. Sometimes it can boost their confidence and motivate them. It makes people creative in a way that it can help the mind to think of something and to imagine. Music can also influence people. “You are what you admire” – as it said, it could be our identity. Your taste in music somehow defines you and you can develop personality traits based on it. Another thing is that, we can find pleasure through music as it is proven scientifically that listening to music releases dopamine.
Music brings people together. For example, a song became a trend or quite popular, everybody jams into it, even the people who are from other country and do not speak that language knows it. Another example of this is when a popular music artist had their concert, you could see people in their ages, in different races, different genders came and become one singing to the song.
Music feeds the soul and touches the heart. It isn’t just any kind of entertainment that you listen to but a place you can find comfort and peace. I couldn’t even go through a day without listening to music like it became an essential, or should I say a must starter pack. It’s my way of relieving myself from a stressful and suffocating day. Whenever I’m feeling down, happy, or just bored, music is my companion almost all of the time.
The thing that really inspired me to create a short blog about music was when I’ve seen TEDx Talk by James Rhode. He was a concert piano players and great innovator of classical music. He taught himself music and had released four albums. James Rhode talked about how music helped him and music is the one thing that when things were happening it literally saved his life. He said that music is a language that we don’t know but we’re fluent in and that he couldn’t think anything else in the world we’re we live that is as universal as music. What he said was true. You could just look around and see how universal it is. It’s not just humans whose creating music but also the nature itself.
